Early manifestations of atherosclerosis of the lower extremities: 1. sweat hair loss and thinning 2. brief toe numbness, which occurs repeatedly 3. lower extremity fatigue, ankle emptiness, and weakness 4. lower extremity coldness, especially in the foot 5. lower extremity cramps, which occur at night 6. unexplained swelling of the back of the foot and ankle 7. rough skin on the bottom of the foot, hyperkeratosis 8. ringworm that is difficult to control, or frequent foot infections
