What causes fat and swollen legs?

There are many factors that can cause fat and swollen legs, mainly vascular insufficiency of the lower limbs, the presence of blood clots as well as cardiac insufficiency, liver and kidney dysfunction. It may also be a normal physiological reaction.
1. Lower extremity vascular injury: if the patient’s lower extremity vein thrombosis, or lower extremity venous valve closure insufficiency, may lead to lower extremity venous blood stagnation, which leads to fluid exudation, leg fat and swollen.
2. Cardiac insufficiency: If the patient has cardiac insufficiency or heart failure, it will also lead to the stagnation of blood in the lower limbs, which will lead to fat and swollen legs.
3. Liver and kidney dysfunction: if the patient suffers from cirrhosis, nephritis and other diseases, it may lead to sodium retention, hypoproteinemia and so on, thus leading to swollen legs.
4. Physiological reaction: if the patient is overworked or standing for a long time, resulting in poor blood return to the lower limbs, blood stagnation in the lower limbs, which can also cause swollen legs.
There are many other factors that can cause swollen legs, patients need to go to the hospital as soon as possible for examination and diagnosis.
