Will a herniated lumbar disc be reset?

It is common to hear people say that a herniated lumbar disc can be reset by massage. In fact, this statement is very uncritical. When the annulus fibrosus is not ruptured and the lumbar intervertebral disc has herniated in a bulging manner, the herniated tissue can be returned to the intervertebral space by doing proper repositioning of the spine. Traction therapy can reduce the internal pressure in the intervertebral space, while strengthening the posterior longitudinal ligament and other pressures on the herniated material, causing it to retreat into the intervertebral space. However, after the annulus fibrosus has ruptured, it is impossible to reset the herniated lumbar intervertebral disc by traction therapy. In this stage of the patient’s manipulative massage treatment, if not handled properly, the disease may also be aggravated.
