What’s wrong with yellow patches on the chest?

Yellow patches on the chest may be caused by sebaceous nevus, florid chafing, seborrheic keratosis, xanthomatosis, and so on.
1. Sebaceous nevus: Sebaceous nevus is a kind of developmental abnormality disease mainly characterized by sebaceous gland hyperplasia. The skin lesions are round, oval or banded plaques with irregular edges, often single, occasionally multiple, and the color can be yellow or brown.
2. florid chaffer: florid chaffer is a superficial infection caused by malassezia invasion of the cuticle, lesions can be a well-defined punctate rash, can be brown, yellowish, with the progression of the disease gradually increased to the size of the fingernail cap, the neighboring lesions can be fused with each other into an irregular large sheet, the surface is covered with furfuraceous scales, the patients generally have no conscious symptoms, can be manifested as a long yellow plaque in front of the chest.
3. Seborrheic keratosis: Seborrheic keratosis is a benign tumor of the epidermis, the cause of which is still unclear, and may be related to skin aging, heredity, genetic mutation. Seborrheic keratosis will cause the patient’s trunk, the back of the hand and other parts of the skin color to light brown to black round spots, plaques, smooth or rough surface, can also cause the patient’s chest to grow yellow plaques.
4. xanthomatosis: the etiology of xanthomatosis is not clear, but it can cause some patients to have long yellow plaques on chest, especially flat xanthomatosis, the lesions are slightly elevated flat yellow plaques, which are yellowish to light brown, limited or generalized, with a diameter of up to 5cm.
