What causes eyelid swelling and pain

Eyelid swelling and pain are usually caused by granuloma or acute cellulitis of the eyelid.
1. Eyelid swelling: Prevalent in underage patients, it is mainly caused by poor eye hygiene habits, such as touching the eyes with dirty hands, which triggers acute bacterial infections of the blepharoplakine glands, eyelash follicles, and sebaceous glands of the eyelids, and so on.
2. Acute cellulitis of the eyelid: caused by widespread bacterial infection of the subcutaneous tissue of the eyelid, generally related to the patient’s old age and weak body, low resistance.
Both of the above situations need to be timely in the eye coated with ofloxacin eye ointment, erythromycin eye ointment and other antibiotic eye ointment for treatment, but also with oral antibiotic treatment, such as amoxicillin clavulanate potassium capsules, penicillin V potassium tablets and so on.
Swelling and pain in the eyelid area should go to the ophthalmology department of the hospital in time, so that the doctor can find out the specific cause and then treat it.
