Wind-phlegm obstruction, convulsive pain in the face, numbness, dizziness, chest and epigastric constriction (feeling of fullness and stuffiness in the chest and abdomen), vomiting of phlegm and saliva, and obesity, Rhizoma Ligustici Sinensis Phlegm Conducting Tang with additions and subtractions. Stomach fire attacking the face, paroxysmal burning pain, forehead distension, red face and eyes, bad breath, dry throat, swollen and painful gums, liking cold drinks, constipation, ulcer and redness, adding and subtracting Stomach-cleansing Dispersion. Symptoms of yin deficiency and hyperactivity of yang, paroxysmal convulsive pain in the face, dizziness, distension of the eyes, insomnia, irritability, dryness of the throat and bitterness of the mouth, soreness and weakness of the waist and knees; add subtractions to Zhen Liver and Restoring Wind Tang. In the case of internal obstruction of blood stasis, repeated facial pain, pain as if cut by needles and knives, dark color, rough skin, no obvious cold or heat triggers, purplish tongue or petechiae, add subtractions of Tongkewangxiehuetang (通窍活血汤).
