Herpes zoster is a viral skin disease characterized by clusters of blisters that are unilaterally distributed along the body in a snake-like arrangement, with significant pain. It is mostly caused by damp-heat in the liver and spleen, and by the presence of evil toxins. Damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder. Main symptoms: bright red rash, tense blister walls, dense patches, burning pain, bitter mouth and dry throat, irritability, short and red urine, dry stools. The tongue is red, the coating is yellow, and the pulse is smooth or stringy. Analysis of the symptoms: Damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder, external poisonous evil, damp-heat and fire poison overflowing the skin, so see the rash bright red, blister wall tension; poisonous heat, so feel burning pain; liver and gallbladder have heat, so see bitter mouth and dry throat; liver qi is not comfortable, so see irritability and irritability. If heat moves to the small intestine, see short and red urine; if heat moves to the large intestine, see dry stools. The tongue and pulse are signs of dampness and heat in the liver and gallbladder. Spleen deficiency and dampness. The tongue is pale and fat, the coating is white and greasy, and the pulse is sunken and slippery. Analysis of the symptoms: Due to the loss of health of the spleen, dampness stops inside and floods the skin externally, so the rash is light red in color, the wall of the blister is relaxed and easy to break, vesicles and oozing after breaking; dampness contains heat, the heat symptom is mild, so the pain is mild; the injury to fluid is not great, so the thirst does not want to drink; the spleen is deficient, so the abdominal distension is poor and the stool is loose. The tongue and pulse are signs of spleen deficiency and water stagnation Qi stagnation and blood stasis. The tongue is dark red or with petechiae, and the pulse is thin. Analysis of the symptoms: The elderly are weak, the disease is prolonged, and the qi and blood are stagnant, so the herpes is dark red at the base; qi deficiency and blood stasis. The pain is severe and unbearable if different does not glory; if the heart and mind are not nourished, there is no restful sleep at night and the spirit is not invigorated. The tongue and pulse are signs of qi stagnation and blood stasis.
