What to do if the head circumference is small in 4D

The small head circumference may be caused by physiological reasons, genetic factors, primary microcephaly and other reasons, which can be improved by strengthening nutrition, surgical treatment and so on.
1. Physiological reasons: If the head circumference of the fetus is 1 to 2 weeks small, and no other malformations are found, it is generally a normal physiological phenomenon. You can enhance the intake of high protein diet, such as fish, eggs, milk, etc. to promote the growth and development of the fetus, and regular review.
2. Genetic factors: If both parents or one of them is small in stature, it may also lead to small head circumference of the fetus. Generally, no special treatment is needed, and regular checkups can be conducted as prescribed by the doctor.
3. Primary microcephaly: If you find that the head circumference of the fetus is obviously small when you check the 4D, you may consider that it is primary microcephaly, and you need to follow the doctor’s advice to carry out prenatal diagnostic examination and virus test, fetal cranial magnetic examination. The fetus needs to be treated as soon as possible after birth.
If the head circumference is small in the 4D examination, targeted treatment measures should be decided according to the specific situation.
