IgM nephropathy is a primary glomerular disease, most of which start as nephrotic syndrome.
IgM nephropathy is a primary glomerular disease in which IgM or IgM-based immunoglobulins are deposited in diffuse granular form in the glomerular mesangial area, and there is proliferation of glomerular mesangial cells and stroma under light microscopy, or the morphology is normal and appears to be a microscopic lesion type of nephropathy.
Clinically, it can occur in any age group, but it is more common in young and middle-aged people and children, most of them start with nephrotic syndrome, and a few of them show proteinuria, simple hematuria, or proteinuria combined with hematuria, and serum IgM is elevated. According to the pathology and its characteristics, it can be divided into microscopic lesion nephropathy, proliferative glomerulonephritis and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.
Patients who are clearly diagnosed with IgM nephropathy should go to regular hospitals for regular follow-up and follow the doctor’s instructions for reasonable treatment.
