Does cervical compression heal itself?

Cervical spine compression of nerves can not be self-healing, and relevant treatment is needed. Cervical spine compression of nerves is mainly due to the proliferation of bone or disc herniation compression to the spinal cord or nerve roots, manifesting cervical spine pain or upper extremity pain, numbness. If the degree of disc herniation is mild and the osteophytes are small, leading to edema of the nerves, conservative treatments, such as exercise therapy, drugs for nerve nutrition and microcirculation improvement, and physical treatments, such as neck braces, can be given to alleviate the pressure of the discs and osteophytes on the nerves. If the compression is severe and conservative treatment cannot relieve the compression on the nerves, surgery is required if the patient’s physical condition permits. Therefore, it is important to intervene and treat these conditions in a timely manner, otherwise more severe neurological and spinal cord compression symptoms may occur, making it difficult to heal.
