Contraindications to the use of Salvia Miltiorrhiza Hawthorn Panax Ginseng

Salvia miltiorrhiza cannot be used with quatrefoil. It is forbidden to be taken by women with excessive menstruation and without blood stasis, and pregnant women should be cautious in taking it; hawthorn should be used with caution by those with weak spleen and stomach without accumulation of stagnation; and pregnant women should be cautious in taking Panax ginseng. Salvia miltiorrhiza has the effects of activating blood circulation and regulating menstruation (regulating menstruation by activating blood circulation), removing blood stasis and relieving pain (removing blood stasis in order to relieve pain), cooling blood and eliminating carbuncles (eliminating carbuncles and swellings by cooling blood). It is used in treating menstrual disorders, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea, postpartum stagnant abdominal pain, blood stasis and heart pain, pain in the epigastrium (abdomen), and accumulation in the mass of the abdomen (the appearance of tangible or intangible lumps in the abdomen, with a feeling of distension and pain), and so on. Hawthorn, with the efficacy of eliminating food stagnation (digesting stagnant food), promoting circulation of Qi and dispersing blood stasis. It is used for treating food stagnation, diarrhea and abdominal pain, hernia pain, chest and abdominal pain with stasis, and menstrual cramps. Panax notoginseng has the effect of resolving blood stasis, stopping bleeding, activating blood circulation and relieving pain. It is used for treating all kinds of hemorrhagic diseases, blood stasis, swelling and pain, bruises, etc., which are caused by blood stasis. Adverse effects: Excessive intake of Panax notoginseng may lead to nausea, frequent vomiting, bleeding tendency such as blood in sputum, epistaxis (nosebleed), bleeding gums and excessive menstruation. Prompt medical attention is recommended in case of discomfort. Do not take medication without authorization to avoid delay.
