Drooling can be caused by deficiency cold of spleen and stomach (spleen and stomach are weak and cold) or damp-heat of spleen and stomach (spleen and stomach feel damp-heat evil qi).
Cold deficiency of the spleen and stomach can develop from a deficiency of qi in the spleen and stomach; or it can be caused by over-eating cold and raw food, which damages spleen yang and stomach yang, and is characterized by vague stomach pain, preference for warmth and pressure, pain in the empty stomach, and slowing down when food is consumed. If the spleen is deficient, it is unable to fix (consolidate) the fluid, then there will be a lot of saliva and no odor.
Damp-heat syndrome of the spleen and stomach is mostly due to the summer and autumn seasons, summer-damp-heat toxins attack, or dietary inattention, and stagnation of damp-heat evils. Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, burning in the anus, thirst for more than one drink, turbid urine, and sticky, smelly stools. Drool is mostly sticky, sticky and astringent in the mouth, and the mouth is not refreshing accompanied by bad breath.
