What happens when you can’t hear in one ear after drinking?

After drinking alcohol, one ear can not hear, may be due to sudden deafness; may also be due to vomiting after drinking alcohol, causing swelling of the Eustachian tube and thus inducing acute secretory otitis media; there may be drunkenness after drinking alcohol, accidental fall caused by perforation of the tympanic membrane.
1. Sudden deafness: Sudden deafness refers to the sudden onset of sensorineural hearing loss, the specific cause is not clear, may be related to staying up all night, cold, tobacco and alcohol stimulation, viral infections, mental stress and other diet. It may be induced if more alcohol is consumed, resulting in intoxication.
2. Acute secretory otitis media: If vomiting occurs after drinking alcohol, it may be due to the stimulation of vomitus and reflux of gastric acid, leading to swelling of the eustachian tube and thus inducing acute secretory otitis media, which results in the accumulation of fluid in the middle ear cavity, leading to inability to hear in one ear.
3. Tympanic membrane perforation: In some cases, you may get drunk after drinking, fall down accidentally, and the direct or indirect stimulation from external force may cause perforation of the tympanic membrane, resulting in inability to hear in one ear.
So if you can’t hear out of one ear after drinking, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to improve the examination and clarify the cause of targeted treatment.
