What does a small nodule in the lower lobe of the right lung mean?

Small nodules in the lower lobe of the right lung are nodular shadows in the lower position of the right lung on lung imaging, which can be seen in tuberculosis, lung cancer, pneumonia and other diseases. 1. Tuberculosis: caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. Most of the people infected with this disease will have abnormal nodular shadow in the lungs in X-ray examination. If there are no other obvious symptoms of tuberculosis, such as low fever in the afternoon, night sweating, coughing, etc., the examination can be repeated after 2~3 weeks. 2. Lung cancer: malignant tumors occurring in the lung and its tissues, there are small cell lung cancer and non-small cell lung cancer. Nodular shadows can be seen on imaging, but the edges are hairy and irregular. 3. Pneumonia: i.e. inflammation of the lungs, there are lobar pneumonia and lobular pneumonia. When pneumonia is clinically cured, fibrotic scarring can be seen in the location of the lungs where inflammatory changes occur, which can be seen as small nodular shadows on chest X-ray. If the examination results show small nodules in the lower lobe of the right lung, further examination should be performed promptly.
