Fistula care

Fistulas include small intestine fistula, colostomy, gastrostomy, cystostomy, ureterostomy, etc. The common one is enterostomy, which includes single tube fistula and double tube fistula, and includes ileostomy, transverse colostomy, sigmoid colostomy, etc. For the care of fistula, the first day after surgery, we should first observe the color of the fistula, that is, whether the fistula is ischemic, necrosis, and then disinfect and change the medication around the fistula, and after wiping the surrounding skin, apply anti-leakage cream and stoma powder to prevent the surrounding skin from inflammation, redness, swelling and pain. On the 3rd to 4th day after surgery, the skin around the stoma should be checked for infection and stoma separation.
