After circumcision, it is recommended to wait 1 month after surgery before having sex. Premature sexual intercourse may result in wound dehiscence or even wound avulsion, which will need to be treated with surgical sutures again. Usually 10-14 days after circumcision, the wound has basically healed, but it is not firm at this time. During sexual intercourse, there may be a risk of foreskin tearing off. There have been clinical reports of the foreskin completely tearing off during sexual intercourse two weeks after circumcision, which was healed only after re-surgical suturing. Therefore, it is recommended that patients who are circumcised should not have sex until one month after surgery. If you have had an infection during the recovery period or if you have had a localized wound split, you will need to extend it to four weeks before having sex.
