What anti-inflammatory medication to take for viral colds and coughs

Viral colds and coughs usually do not require anti-inflammatory drugs. The anti-inflammatory drugs that people often refer to are actually antibiotics, which can be used when a bacterial infection causes a cough, but they do not work for viral colds. Viral colds are caused by viral infections and are categorized as common colds and influenza. Common colds are often accompanied by symptoms such as nasal congestion and runny nose; influenza has more systemic symptoms such as fever and less localized symptoms. Common colds are treated with general treatment, such as rest, and when symptoms are severe, symptomatic treatment with aminophenol xanthamin is needed. If it is influenza, you can take the antiviral drug oseltamivir phosphate. If there are symptoms of cough, you can take cough suppressant drugs, such as cough bicarbonate, compound licorice tablets and so on. For symptoms accompanied by fever, take fever-reducing medications such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Antibiotics are not used unless there is evidence of bacterial infection. Along with medication, it is important to get plenty of rest, drink plenty of hot water, pay attention to ventilation, and eat a light diet. Seek medical attention if you feel unwell.
