The difference between fried and unfried barley

Job’s tears are Coix lacryma. The difference between fried and non-fried Job’s tears is mainly the difference in efficacy. Raw Job’s tears are cold in nature, long in water and seepage of dampness (to promote the flow of water to dispel dampness), clearing away heat and pus, in addition to paralysis. Raw Job’s tears are mostly used for edema in clinical application, because of its weak effect of diuresis, suitable for light evidence, applicable to foot fungus, intestinal carbuncle, and so on. Fried Job’s tears are calm in nature, long for the spleen to stop diarrhea, more often used in the spleen with wet diarrhea. Job’s tears have the effect of inducing water seepage and permeation of dampness, strengthening the spleen and stopping diarrhea, removing paralysis, draining pus, detoxifying and dispersing knots. It can be used to treat edema, foot odor, dysuria (unsmooth urination), diarrhea due to spleen deficiency (diarrhea caused by weak spleen), dampness paralysis, lung carbuncle, intestinal carbuncle (carbuncle occurring in the intestines and bowels, manifested by fever, pain in the right side of the abdomen, and palpable lump), etc. It is also used to relieve diarrhea due to spleen deficiency. Use with caution in pregnant women. Please use the medicine under the guidance of a physician.
