How often can you feel the fetus move?

Pregnant women are often conscious of fetal movement around 20 weeks of gestation. Fetal movement refers to the somatic activity of the fetus. Fetal movement can be detected by ultrasonography after 18 weeks of gestation. Fetal movement is often conscious at about 20 weeks of gestation, about 3-5 times per hour, and gradually strengthened with the progress of pregnancy. Fetal movement reaches its peak at 32-34 weeks of gestation and gradually decreases after 38 weeks of gestation. Fetal movement is more active at night and in the afternoon, and often disappears during the fetal sleep cycle. After 28 weeks of gestation, the number of normal fetal movements is ≥10 times/2 hours, if the fetal movement <10 times/2 hours or 50% reduction suggests that there may be fetal hypoxia, fetal examination should be carried out in a timely manner, early treatment, and if necessary, termination of pregnancy.
