Are restless legs a precursor to serious illness?

Restless legs are often not a precursor to serious illness. Restless legs, or restless legs syndrome, includes primary restless legs syndrome and secondary restless legs syndrome. Primary restless legs syndrome is related to genetic factors and abnormal dopamine function in the brain; secondary restless legs syndrome is related to some diseases, such as chronic renal failure and rheumatoid arthritis.
1. Primary restless legs syndrome: the etiology of this disease is unknown, and is currently considered to be related to genetic factors and abnormal dopamine function in the brain.
2. Secondary restless legs syndrome: this type is related to many diseases, such as chronic renal failure, rheumatoid arthritis, Parkinson’s disease, dry syndrome and so on.
Some patients can reduce and disappear after the onset of the disease, but most patients will continue to suffer from the disease for life. Patients are advised to go to the hospital in time.
