Postoperative growth of perianal abscess generally refers to wound healing, as the incision is open after perianal abscess surgery, incision healing requires a long process, which usually takes about 4 weeks.
First of all, in the first week after surgery, tissue lysis period, in this period, due to the abscess will cause a lot of infected necrotic tissue in the pus cavity, it will gradually lead out with the cavity. Secondly, after one week postoperatively, it will enter the granulation period, during which fresh granulation tissue will be present and continue to grow until the incision is filled.
Again, the skin healing period occurs 3-4 weeks after surgery, when the granulation fills the incision tissue and the superficial skin heals by crawling. It is important to note that if the granulation has not completely filled the incision and early skin healing occurs, this can lead to an anal fistula, which is called pseudo-healing.
Therefore, after surgery, patients need to change the medicine regularly and put gauze inside the incision to prevent early healing of the incision skin.
It is recommended that the patient’s diet is light and regular, to prevent constipation, avoid spicy and stimulating food, pay attention to anal hygiene, regular postoperative cleaning and disinfection of wounds, and drainage, while applying anti-inflammatory drugs.
