What are the properties of Citrus aurantium?

Citrus aurantium is bitter, pungent, sour and slightly cold in nature. This medicine belongs to the spleen and stomach meridians.
Hovenia dulcis is the dried young fruit of sour orange and its cultivated varieties or sweet orange in the family of Rutaceae, with a bitter, pungent and sour flavor, slightly cold in nature, and attributed to the spleen and stomach meridians. It has the effects of breaking qi and eliminating stagnation of qi and eliminating food accumulation, resolving phlegm and dispersing lumps.
It can be used clinically to treat stagnation, plumpness and distension (stomach fullness, pain and discomfort), impassable bowel movement, diarrhea and dysentery, phlegm obstruction, stagnation of qi, knotting up of the chest, thoracic paralysis (stuffy pain in the chest), and prolapsed organs such as gastric dilatation, prolapse of the anus, uterine prolapse, and gastric ptosis.
