What to do about gallbladder wall thickening

Gallbladder wall thickening is more common in diagnostic imaging and can be caused by both primary gallbladder disease and extra-gallbladder disease, so the cause of gallbladder wall thickening needs to be clarified before treatment. There are two types of gallbladder wall thickening: irregularly confined and regularly uniform. Irregular limited gallbladder wall thickening, also known as gallbladder bulge-like lesions, can be seen in gallbladder adenoma, gallbladder cancer and gallbladder polyps. If the ultrasound indicates irregular limited thickening of the gallbladder, it is necessary to come to the hospital for further examination to clarify the nature of the thickening, generally firstly, enhanced CT examination. Regular uniform gallbladder thickening can be seen in two cases, one is the gallbladder itself, most of them are acute or chronic cholecystitis caused by gallbladder stones. This condition does not require treatment of the gallbladder and is mainly treated for the primary disease. There are many causes of gallbladder wall thickening. For the thickening of gallbladder wall caused by acute cholecystitis, conservative treatment can be carried out temporarily, while for the uneven thickening of gallbladder wall and suspected gallbladder carcinoma, timely surgery should be carried out.
