1 . Clinical data Among 66 patients with lumbar disc herniation, 39 were male and 27 were female, the minimum age was 21 years old, the maximum age was 80 years old, and the average age was 43.5 years; the shortest duration of disease was 5 days, the longest was 6 years, and the average was 5.9 months. The treatment group was randomly divided into 35 cases: 21 males and 14 females; 14 cases aged 21-40 years, 16 cases aged 41-60 years, and 5 cases aged 61-80 years; 21 cases aged 0-24 months, 6 cases aged 25-48 years, and 8 cases aged 49-72 months; 31 cases in the control group: 18 males and 13 females; 12 cases aged 21-40 years, 13 cases aged 41-60 years, and 6 cases aged 61-80 years. ~In the control group, there were 31 cases: 18 males and 13 females; 12 cases aged 21-40 years, 13 cases aged 41-60 years, 6 cases aged 61-80 years; 17 cases aged 0-24 months, 9 cases aged 25-48 years, and 5 cases aged 49-72 months; the gender, age, and disease duration of the two groups were statistically processed, and there was no significant difference (P>0.05). The diagnostic criteria of all patients were in accordance with the “Diagnostic criteria for lumbar intervertebral disc herniation” contained in the “Diagnostic and efficacy criteria of Chinese medicine” issued by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine on 1994-06-28. 2.1 Treatment group: Treatment with the method of strengthening the spleen, tonifying the liver and benefiting the kidney, dispersing wind, dispersing cold and removing dampness, moving Qi and activating blood circulation, and promoting the circulation of blood. In clinical treatment, the author divided the treatment into 3 types of evidence. 2.1.1 Deficiency in the middle and lower extremities: pain and numbness in the waist and lower extremities, accompanied by tiredness and weakness, shortness of breath and easy sweating, little breath and lazy speech, low voice and weak breath, pale and tasteless mouth, poor appetite, pale tongue with thin coating, large and weak pulse. Treatment: Strengthening the spleen, benefiting the stomach, dispelling evil and clearing the channels. Remedy: Tonifying Zhong Yi Qi Tang or Sheng Yang Yi Stomach Tang combined with a small amount of dispelling wind, dispersing cold and removing dampness. 2.1.2 Liver deficiency and sensation of evil main symptoms: pain and numbness in the waist and lower limbs, accompanied by atrophy of the face, pale lips and claws, dizziness, palpitation and insomnia, pale tongue with thin coating, thin and weak pulse. Treatment: Nourishing the liver and tonifying blood, dispelling evil and clearing the channels. Remedies: Siwu Tang or Gum and Ai Tang combined with a small amount of dispelling wind, dispersing cold and removing dampness. 2.1.3 Kidney deficiency with numbness Main symptoms: soreness and numbness of the waist and lower limbs with red cheek, hot flashes, night sweating, tinnitus, dry mouth and throat, short urine, dry stools, red tongue with little moss, thin pulse (or cold feet and cold limbs, frequent urination, enuresis, loose stools, pale fat tongue, sunken and feeble pulse). Treatment: Tonify the kidney and nourish Yin (or warm the kidney and strengthen Yang), dispel evil and open the ligaments. 2.2 Control group: treated with the method of dispelling evil and clearing ligaments. Treatment: dispel wind, disperse cold, remove dampness, promote blood circulation and relieve pain. The formula: Douwuxiaosheng Tang and Body Pain and Stasis Removal Tang combined with a small amount of liver and kidney tonics. 2.3 Course of treatment: Both groups were treated orally with Chinese herbal decoction, one dose was taken daily, one in the morning and one in the evening, and the efficacy of both groups was observed after 4 weeks.
