Ticks are divided into hard ticks and soft ticks. The former can carry viruses such as forest encephalitis virus and new Bunyavirus, while the latter do not carry viruses but can carry disease-causing spirochetes.
1. Hard ticks
(1) Forest encephalitis virus: the source of infection is mainly wild vertebrates, and it is transmitted through the bite and blood-sucking of hard ticks. The sick people are commonly found in the logging workers in the northeast forest area of China.
(2) New Bunyavirus: the full name is Bunyaviridae whitefly virus fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus. It is mainly transmitted by ticks that bite and suck blood.
(3) Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus: the source of infection is mainly sheep and Tarim rabbits, and ticks are the vectors of transmission.
(2) Soft ticks: Soft ticks generally do not carry viruses, but they can carry disease-causing spirochetes, which can cause endemic regression fever and other diseases.
Personal protection should be observed when traveling to forested areas. If you feel unwell, it is recommended that you seek prompt medical attention and treatment.
