Range of progesterone values for ectopic pregnancy

The vast majority of ectopic pregnancies have progesterone values in the range of 10-25 mg/mL, but there are exceptions because some ectopic pregnancies lodge in the jugular region of the fallopian tube or at the cervix or horn of the uterus, and these ectopic pregnancies can grow relatively large, so the ectopic progesterone value that can grow is actually similar to that of a normal pregnancy. Ectopic pregnancy is prone to miscarriage or rupture, and there is no difficulty in diagnosing ectopic pregnancy if it is of the miscarriage or rupture type. However, it is more difficult to diagnose ectopic pregnancy in case of indolent miscarriage or biochemical pregnancy, because the mass is smaller and the progesterone value is very low, in which case attention should be paid to monitoring blood HCG and ultrasound.
