Syncope, or blepharitis, commonly known as mydriasis, is a common inflammatory disease of the eyelids in ophthalmology and is associated with bacterial infection. It is more commonly associated with Staphylococcus aureus infection and is common in children and older adults who have poor resistance to the disease. If the bacteria infect the sweat and sebaceous glands at the base of the eyelashes, the eyelid will become red, swollen and painful in the early stages, and a few days later, yellowish-white pus spots will appear at the base of the eyelashes. If the bacteria infect the eyelid lid glands, the relative eyelid redness, swelling, and pain will be more pronounced. If the pus is on the inside of the eyelid, the eyelid needs to be turned over to detect it. Local anti-inflammatory, systemic anti-inflammatory, and surgical treatments are usually considered after diagnosis.
