How to relieve excruciating pain after rectal cancer surgery

If the pain after rectal cancer surgery is intolerable, it is recommended to take pain relieving drugs to relieve short-term pain; if it is long-term pain, it is recommended to consult doctor in time to clarify the cause of the disease. 1. Short-term pain: short-term pain after rectal cancer surgery is a common complication after surgery. It is mostly caused by the disappearance of anesthesia, fecal stimulation and friction of wound surface. It is recommended to use morphine, codeine and other painkillers for a short period of time under doctor’s guidance, or pump Tramadol and other painkillers; other treatments, such as softening stools, are also recommended. 2. Long-term pain: If patients have long-term pain after surgery, they should consider wound infection, poor healing, or even cancer metastasis. It is suggested that patients should complete colonoscopy and other examinations in time, and according to the cause of the disease, they should be treated with secondary debridement and surgical resection; and consider using further anti-tumor treatment, such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy (e.g. 5-FU, mitomycin, etc.). It is recommended that patients should consult a doctor if they feel unwell, and choose the appropriate treatment plan under the doctor’s guidance. Drugs should be applied under doctor’s guidance.
