How long can you live in the middle and late stages of gastric adenocarcinoma?

How long can middle and advanced gastric cancer live is related to the malignancy degree of the lesion, treatment method and whether distant metastasis occurs, etc. The prognosis of most patients is not good and the survival period is short. The incidence rate and mortality rate of gastric cancer in China are both high, and the survival period of patients with middle and advanced gastric cancer is relatively short. The 5-year survival rate of middle stage gastric cancer is about 50% after surgery, and the 5-year survival rate of advanced gastric cancer is less than 10%. For intermediate and advanced gastric cancer with higher malignancy, if distant metastasis has already appeared, without active treatment, they may only live about half a year. For the intermediate and advanced gastric cancer without distant metastasis but with higher malignancy, patients may survive for about 2-3 years after radical resection and standardized radiotherapy; if they do not undergo treatment, they may only survive for about 1 year. In addition, patients with intermediate and advanced gastric cancer with lower malignancy have a slightly longer survival period than those with higher malignancy. Patients with gastric cancer need to go to gastrointestinal surgery or oncology department for standardized treatment in time to prolong their survival.
