Subcutaneous nodules are commonly found in lipomas, fibromas and sebaceous cysts, with different clinical symptoms depending on the lesions.
1. Lipoma: the causes are related to abnormal lipid metabolism, genetic factors, daily dietary habits, alcoholism, hormone level disorders and so on. After the onset of the disease, round or ovoid nodules can appear under the skin, with clear boundary, soft texture and no pressure pain. Ultrasound can confirm the diagnosis of the lesion, and follow-up observation is the main concern.
2. Fibroma: the cause is related to the abnormal hormone level and chronic inflammation, which is caused by the abnormal proliferation of fibrous connective tissue. It can be touched under the skin, resulting in round or ovoid nodules, with slightly tough texture, clear boundary, and slight pain when pressed.
3. Sebaceous cysts: The lesion is formed when the opening of the sebaceous gland is blocked due to various reasons. The nodules are relatively soft, but harder than lipomas. When the nodule is squeezed, a white tofu-like substance may come out. Since sebaceous cysts are prone to infection, early surgical removal of the lesion is often recommended after diagnosis.
It is recommended to consult a hospital for standardized treatment.
