Qi and blood deficiency is caused by prolonged illness disorder, Qi and blood injuries, or due to dietary irregularities, damage to the spleen and stomach, insufficient biochemistry, or due to chronic blood loss, blood loss and Qi depletion.

Qi and blood deficiency can be characterized by insomnia, palpitations, fatigue (mental exhaustion, physical weakness), dizziness, lack of energy, lack of speech, spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, aggravated by sweating with slight movement), emaciation, numbness of the limbs, pale or yellowish complexion, weak or weak pulse, and a pale white tongue.
