What are the consequences of holding your urine

Holding back urine may cause urinary infections, urinary retention, renal insufficiency and so on.
1. Urinary infection: urine remains in the bladder when holding it in, which may cause urinary infection, such as cystitis, and other symptoms such as urinary urgency, frequent urination, urinary pain and lower abdominal pain.
2. Urinary retention: Holding back urine will cause over expansion of the bladder sphincter, which may affect the bladder contraction function and lead to urinary retention.
3. Renal insufficiency: After holding urine for a long time and triggering urinary retention, it will lead to hydronephrosis and dilatation of the ureter, thus affecting the function of the kidneys and developing renal insufficiency.
Holding back urine can also cause other effects, daily attention should be paid to develop good urination habits, regular urination, avoid holding back urine.
