The significance of the Liver Function Eleven is to check the function of the liver, which can fully reflect the detoxification, secretion and excretion functions of the liver.
Liver function eleven tests include: alanine aminotransferase, glutamate aminotransferase, glutamyl transpeptidase, alkaline phosphatase, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, indirect bilirubin, total protein, albumin, globulin, and albumin to A/G ratio.
When there is cirrhosis or inflammation of the liver, there will be an increase in items such as alanine aminotransferase, glutamate aminotransferase, and glutamyl transpeptidase, a decrease in items such as total protein, albumin, and globulin, and an abnormality of the albumin-to-globulin ratio A/G. Total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, and indirect bilirubin may be elevated in cases of cholecystitis and gallstones.
The eleven liver function tests can be used as a basis for evaluating liver damage caused by certain liver diseases or related disorders, and should be judged under the guidance of a physician.
