How to treat intestinal obstruction

Intestinal obstruction is a very serious acute abdominal disease, which is very dangerous to human health. After the discovery of intestinal obstruction, timely treatment is needed to avoid intestinal perforation and intestinal necrosis. At present, the treatment methods for intestinal obstruction are divided into conservative treatment and surgical treatment, among which conservative treatment includes fasting, gastrointestinal decompression, anti-infection and other methods.

For patients with incomplete intestinal obstruction, conservative treatment methods can be adopted, such as fasting, reducing gastrointestinal pressure, correcting water-electrolyte disorders and acid-base imbalance, etc. The treatment effect is still very good. When doing conservative treatment, we also need to pay more attention to observation. Patients who are not very serious can be observed for about 36 hours, while for patients with strangulated intestinal obstruction, the observation time cannot exceed 4 hours, and if the delay is too long, it may lead to intestinal necrosis, intestinal adhesions and other adverse symptoms. For patients with more serious conditions and longer delays, they must be treated by open surgery. For patients with intestinal necrosis, intestinal resection anastomosis should be performed in time to avoid further expansion of necrosis area.

After the diagnosis of intestinal obstruction, it is necessary to treat it as soon as possible, the earlier the treatment, the better the effect, if the delay is too long will lead to intestinal necrosis, then it must be cured by surgery.
