Symptoms of chickenpox in babies are mainly divided into two aspects: prodromal symptoms and rash.
1. Prodromal symptoms: Early symptoms of chickenpox in babies may not be obvious, and some of them may be manifested as fever, loss of appetite, cough, runny nose and other symptoms.
2. Skin rash:
(1) macular rash, papule: varicella-zoster virus invades the bloodstream and forms viremia, which causes swelling of capillaries in the dermis and the appearance of macular rash, first on the head, face and trunk, and then extends to the limbs, with a centripetal distribution. The initial rash is a red blotchy rash and papules.
(2) Blisters and scabs: with the ballooning of epithelial cells, cell lysis, liquefaction, becoming transparent and full of blisters, blisters turbid and central depression after 24 hours, blisters are easy to rupture, and about 2-3 days of rapid crusting. The rash appears successively in batches, accompanied by obvious itching, in the peak of the disease can be seen spots, papules, herpes and scabs at the same time.
Mucous membrane rash can also appear in the oral cavity, conjunctiva, genitals, etc., the general rash scabs do not leave a scar.
