A positive carbon 14 breath test indicates a H. pylori infection, and more than half of the people in China will have H. pylori infection. H. pylori infection itself is not serious, and some people do not even have any symptoms; however, H. pylori infection can easily lead to gastritis, gastric erosion, gastric ulcers and even gastric cancer. A good number of patients infected with H. pylori have gastritis, erosion and ulcers themselves, so they should be actively treated after discovery. Nowadays, there are two types of treatment: one is triple therapy and the other is quadruple therapy, which should be required to be carried out for 7-14 days, and then retested after stopping the treatment for more than 1 month.
