The current methods of circumcision include traditional circumcision, anastomotic circumcision and commercial ring circumcision, each of which has its own advantages and disadvantages and is generally comparable in terms of recovery time. As traditional circumcision is performed with absorbable sutures, it takes about a month for the absorbable sutures to fall out completely after surgery. In anastomotic circumcision, titanium staples are used to anastomose the incision, and the titanium staples fall out completely about one month after surgery. For commercial circumcision, it takes about half a month for the ring to fall off, but the incision is not closed with sutures and heals on its own, so it takes about half a month for the incision to recover after the ring falls off. So overall, the recovery time for these three surgical methods is comparable.
