Inflammation can lead to a decrease in menstrual flow, especially inflammation of the endometrium, which often occurs after an abortion or after a hysterectomy. Chronic inflammation of the uterine lining due to chronic inflammatory factors during abortion or evacuation, as well as during the recovery process, can lead to chronic inflammation of the endometrium, followed by chronic adhesions of the endometrium leading to adhesions of the uterine cavity, which can result in a poor response of the endometrium at the time of the next menstrual period, and thus a decrease in the amount of menstrual flow. In this case, hysteroscopy is performed to clarify the diagnosis, and if hysteroscopy does reveal uterine adhesions, adhesion detachment can be performed.
