Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a very common type of malignant tumor of the head and neck. Generally speaking, hypodifferentiated and undifferentiated cancers, that is, highly malignant types of nasopharyngeal cancer, are more common. If nasopharyngeal cancer can be cured, it is possible to achieve long-term survival, that is, no recurrence for more than 5 years, and it can be said to be clinically cured. However, the general pathological type is relatively less malignant. In case of higher malignancy, there is a possibility of early metastasis to the lymph nodes in the neck or other sites. Nasopharyngeal cancer may be related to EBV infection, and there may be no obvious symptoms in the early stage. As the disease progresses, symptoms such as enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, and the feeling of nasal obstruction or nasal bleeding may appear. The diagnosis can be confirmed by pathological examination through nasopharyngoscopy. After the diagnosis, nasopharyngeal cancer treatment is mainly radiotherapy treatment, which can be combined with synchronous chemotherapy.
