There is no such formula as Expectant Dampness Three Miaosan; the similarly named Three Miaowan is formulated with Huangbai, Cangzhu, and hyssop.
San Miao Wan is from “The True Biography of Medicine”, which is composed of Huang Bai, Cang Zhu and Sichuan Cow Knee. It has the effect of clearing heat and drying dampness (removing heat and drying dampness), and mainly treats impotence and paralysis of dampness-heat downstream (dampness and heat invading the intestines, bladder, pubic region and lower limbs), which is seen as swollen and painful feet and knees, numbness, or as hot as a fire, with impotence, weakness and yellowish urine.
In the formula, Huangbai is cold, bitter and dry, and is good at clearing dampness and heat in the lower Jiao (dampness and heat invade the intestines, bladder, yin, lower limbs, etc.); Cangzhu is pungent, warm, bitter and dry to remove the symptoms of dampness obstruction, and strengthens the spleen to help transport the root of dampness; and hyssop is strong for the bones and muscles and replenishes the liver and kidneys. All the drugs are used together to perform the function of clearing heat and drying dampness.
The adverse reactions and contraindications of this product are not clear, pregnant women should be cautious. Do not use the drug by yourself, if you feel unwell, please go to the hospital as soon as possible.
