Characteristics of mixed ground glass nodules

Mixed ground-glass nodules are nodules found on chest CT examination that are composed of a mixture of ground-glass components and solid nodular components, and are mainly characterized by a higher rate of cancer.
Mixed ground-glass nodules are characterized by higher density than normal lung tissue with blood vessels and bronchial shadows visible in some of the nodules, while some of the nodules are solid with higher density without blood vessels and bronchial shadows visible in the lungs, and the solid portion of the nodules may show bad performance such as burr sign and lobulation sign.
Mixed MGN is a disease with a higher chance of becoming cancerous. Simple MGN has a lower chance of becoming cancerous, while mixed MGN has a higher chance of becoming cancerous and requires high attention.
If mixed MGNs are found, early diagnosis and treatment are needed to avoid delaying the condition.
