How to treat vascular stenosis

The treatment of stenosis should be symptomatic depending on whether the patient has venous or arterial stenosis. The main treatments include medication (e.g. heparin) and surgery. For venous stenosis, if there is no obvious clinical manifestation, no special treatment is needed and close observation is recommended; if there is obvious clinical manifestation, it is recommended to take anticoagulant drugs, such as ordinary heparin, low molecular heparin, etc., under the guidance of doctors, and if necessary, it is necessary to use interventional balloon dilatation as well as stent implantation and other surgical procedures to carry out the treatment. For arterial stenosis, if the degree of stenosis does not exceed 70% and the patient does not have any clinical manifestations, it is recommended to take statin antilipidemic drugs, such as simvastatin, resuvastatin, etc. under the guidance of a doctor to control atherosclerotic plaques. Antiplatelet drugs, such as aspirin, should also be used as prescribed. If the degree of stenosis exceeds 70%, surgical procedures such as bypass surgery, interventional balloon dilatation or stent implantation should be chosen according to the patient’s specific situation. Stenosis should be taken seriously and treated according to the degree of stenosis as directed by the doctor.
