When “sudden death” meets “CPR” – how to give first aid?

Sudden death often occurs very suddenly, the patient will suddenly fall to the ground, loss of consciousness (should not call). Because of the suddenness, bystanders often panic when they encounter this situation, and if they cannot take first aid measures in time, the golden time for resuscitation will be wasted. If effective treatment is not obtained within 2-4 minutes after sudden death occurs, irreversible damage to the brain will occur, and the hope of survival will be very slim if it exceeds 8 minutes. Therefore, it is especially important to master the “pre-hospital first aid knowledge” to save lives. So what should we do when someone around us dies suddenly? Let’s learn “first aid tips” together! 1, immediately call the 120 emergency number, and briefly explain the basic condition of the patient to the professionals as much as possible, accurately inform the time and location of the onset of the disease. 2.Before waiting for professional rescuers to reach the scene, immediately place the patient on the ground or a hard bed, flatten the limbs, undo the patient’s clothes, and at the same time touch the neck and other large arteries to determine whether there is a pulsation, if the patient does not respond and there is no arterial pulsation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (chest compressions + artificial respiration) should be performed immediately. 3, external chest compressions: place the root of the palms of both hands overlapping at the junction of the middle and lower 1/3 of the sternum, and lift the fingers without touching the chest wall. Straighten the elbow joint, press downward with the help of body gravity, press hard to make the sternum sink at least 5cm, relax immediately, press and relax at the same time, do not leave the pressing part when relaxing the palms, the pressing frequency is 100 times/min. 4, artificial respiration: make the patient’s neck as far back as possible, pinch the patient’s nostrils with one hand, push open the jaw, make his mouth open, then we calmly inhale and put the lips of the mouth close to the patient’s lips, wrap the patient’s mouth, deep and fast to blow into the patient’s mouth, should last more than 1 second until the patient’s chest lifts upward. 5, whenever done after 30 chest compressions immediately followed by 2 artificial respiration, and then circulate again, this is the complete hands-on CPR process, the correct operation of CPR can save our lives to win valuable time. If the patient has not regained consciousness, before the arrival of emergency medical personnel, CPR cycle should be continued and cannot be terminated. 6.After the arrival of the paramedics, inform the paramedics of the specific situation that occurred. I hope that through the introduction of this issue, you understand and can simply master the pre-hospital first aid tips, which may save others’ lives someday in the future.
