Jaw dislocation, also known as temporomandibular joint dislocation, can be treated by conservative treatment, medication, manipulation of reset, surgery and other methods.
1. Conservative treatment: If the temporomandibular joint is dislocated for a long time, the chewing muscle is spastic, and the joint is edematous, the symptoms can be relieved by applying hot compresses to the affected area, and the activities of the jaw need to be restricted.
2. Medication: If the spasm of masticatory muscles can not be relaxed after temporomandibular joint dislocation and cannot be reset, sedative drugs can be used, such as lorazepam, diazepam, and so on.
3. Manipulation: acute dislocation of temporomandibular joint can be reset by manipulation, when reset, craniomandibular bandage can be used for immobilization, also need to limit the degree of mouth opening.
4. Surgery: It is suitable for complex dislocation, old dislocation, or when manipulation is ineffective or inapplicable. Commonly used surgical methods include arthroscopic surgery, joint nodule augmentation, joint capsule tightening and joint nodule chiseling.
If TMJ dislocation occurs, it needs to be treated promptly under the supervision of a doctor.
