The test of choice for suspected renal trauma is CT.
Renal trauma generally refers to surgical renal injury, which can be caused by direct violence (such as falling, impact, extrusion, etc.) or indirect violence (such as hedging injuries). In the event of renal trauma, CT examination, i.e., electronic computed tomography, is usually used as the first choice for confirming the diagnosis of renal injury, which can clearly show the extent of renal parenchymal laceration, hematoma and the extent of urinary extravasation.
CT examination can also understand whether the renal tissue of patients with renal trauma is viable or not, and understand the relationship with other organs such as whether it involves peripheral organs.
Generally speaking, doctors will conduct a basic physical examination for patients with renal trauma, and then choose tests such as blood routine, urine routine, renal function, ultrasound, X-ray or CT according to the needs of the condition in order to diagnose the severity of the disease.
If kidney trauma is suspected, patients are advised to go to the hospital in time to improve the relevant examinations under the guidance of doctors.
