What to do about atypical endometrial hyperplasia

Atypical endometrial hyperplasia can be treated by taking progestin drugs, hysterectomy, and hysteroscopic removal of the endometrium.

1. Progesterone drugs: suitable for women with reproductive requirements. Progesterone has the effect of inhibiting the growth of endometrium, such as taking a large amount of medroxyprogesterone acetate can inhibit endometrial hyperplasia.

2. Hysterectomy: suitable for postmenopausal women or women who do not have childbearing requirements. Atypical endometrial hyperplasia can develop into endometrial cancer, and early removal of the uterus can prevent the occurrence of endometrial cancer.

3. Endometrial resection: It is suitable for patients who want to save their uterus, and is often performed under hysteroscopy. Through microwave, laser and electrocoagulation, the functional layer and part of the basal layer of the endometrium will be destroyed, and the endometrium will lose its ability to respond to ovarian hormones, so as to achieve the goal of curing the atypical hyperplasia of the endometrium.

Patients with atypical endometrial hyperplasia should go to the hospital in time and choose the appropriate treatment according to the patient’s condition after the doctor’s comprehensive evaluation of the condition.
