Pentavalent rotavirus vaccine is usually given three times between 6 and 32 weeks of age, with an interval of 4 to 10 weeks between each dose. The first dose is usually given at 6 weeks of age, and the second and third doses at 10 and 14 weeks of age, or the second and third doses at 3 and 4 months of age. Rotavirus infectious enteritis usually manifests as diarrhea, fever and even dehydration. Pentavalent rotavirus vaccine is mainly used to prevent this disease in children, with an efficiency rate of up to 80%, and is mainly administered orally, with a total of 3 doses. Generally, babies who have not received the first oral dose by the age of 12 weeks will not be able to be vaccinated with this vaccine, and the third dose of the vaccine should be administered no later than the age of 32 weeks. No dietary restrictions, including breastfeeding, are required before or after rotavirus vaccination. If the vaccine regurgitates, is spit up or vomited, there is no need to repeat the vaccination for that dose.
