Early symptoms of nasal cancer and how to prevent it?

Since the early symptoms of nasal cancer are not obvious, it is more hidden and people are not easy to detect it. The early symptoms of nasal cancer are only similar to rhinitis such as nasal congestion, headache, blood in sputum and nasal mucus, so it is often overlooked. Therefore, we are reminded that we should actively treat rhinitis to avoid recurrent attacks of rhinitis in order to reduce the chance of inducing nasal cancer. There are 5 main symptoms in early stage as follows 1.blood in nose: blood in nose is an early symptom of nasal cancer, which is manifested as blood in nose, or blood in nose from mouth, also known as blood in sputum. It often occurs in the morning after waking up. When the amount of nasal blood is small, it is often neglected by patients and mistaken for rhinitis or sinusitis, or treated as hemoptysis and brought to the internal medicine department. 2.Nasal congestion: Nasal congestion is another early manifestation of nasal cancer. Most of them are unilateral nasal congestion. When nasopharyngeal tumor enlarges, bilateral nasal congestion may appear. 3.Tinnitus and hearing loss: Tinnitus, ear congestion and hearing loss are also early signs of nasopharyngeal cancer. This symptom is caused by nasal cancer neoplasm blocking the opening of the affected eustachian tube. Hearing loss may also be caused by further deterioration of nasal cancer that damages the hearing nerve. Tinnitus and hearing loss are often misdiagnosed as otitis media or other diseases, resulting in delayed treatment. 4.Headache: When first diagnosed with nasal cancer, about 70% of patients have headache symptoms. The headache symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma are usually migraine, pain at the top of the skull, behind the occiput or in the neck. Most of the headaches in nasopharyngeal cancer are related to the invasion of bone, nerve and blood vessel at the skull base by cancer tissue. 5. Swollen lymph nodes in the neck: Many patients with nasopharyngeal cancer often seek medical treatment because they unintentionally touch a “lump” on their neck. This “lump” is actually an enlarged lymph node. The swollen lymph nodes in the neck of nasopharyngeal cancer patients are often misdiagnosed as inflammation. For neck lumps that do not shrink after anti-inflammatory treatment or even continue to increase rapidly, especially painless neck lumps with hard texture, poor mobility and multiple fusion into a mass, timely medical consultation is needed. Ways to prevent nasal cancer 1. Always pay attention to the change of weather to prevent the appearance of cold, and keep the nasal hygiene and nasal cleaning when necessary to prevent the infection of virus. 2.Avoid inhaling harmful gases, such as kerosene lamp gas and insecticide spray, which are often encountered in life, and quit smoking and drinking. If you have nasopharyngeal diseases, you should seek medical treatment as early as possible. If you find bloody nasal mucus or bloody nasal mucus coming out of your mouth after inhaling, as well as unexplained swollen lymph nodes in the neck and middle ear effusion, you should have a detailed examination of nasopharynx in time, which is very important for the prevention of nasal cancer. 4. Pay attention to life conditioning and avoid physical overwork. Such as heavy physical labor, staying up late, excessive physical exercise, etc. can make the internal environment of the body imbalanced and the resistance to nasal cancer decrease, which can lead to the emergence and spread of nasal cancer.
