How to Relieve Period Pain

Dysmenorrhea (painful period) can usually be relieved by general treatment, medication, and surgery.
Dysmenorrhea can be categorized as primary dysmenorrhea or secondary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea is usually caused by fluctuations in various hormone levels, poor menstrual blood flow, and uterine cramps.
Secondary dysmenorrhea is mostly caused by endometriosis, adenomyosis, pelvic infection, etc. Its main manifestation is lower abdominal swelling and pain before or during menstruation. The methods to relieve dysmenorrhea generally include the following methods.
1. General treatment: Maintaining good living habits, regular work and rest, reducing late nights, not eating cold foods, and moderate exercise can alleviate menstrual anxiety, dysmenorrhea and other uncomfortable symptoms to a certain extent.
2. Medication: Some people with severe menstrual cramps can take medication, including prostaglandin synthase inhibitors (ibuprofen, indomethacin, etc.), short-acting contraceptives (drospirenone ethinyl estradiol tablets, deoxyprogesterone ethinyl estradiol tablets, etc.), antispasmodics (scopolamine, atropine, etc.), analgesic (tramadol tablets, codeine tablets, etc.), and so on.
3. Surgery: Most primary dysmenorrhea can be relieved by conservative treatment, if secondary dysmenorrhea and symptoms are difficult to relieve, you can choose the appropriate surgical treatment.
If the symptoms of dysmenorrhea are obvious, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital in time to clarify the cause and treat under the guidance of the doctor to avoid adverse consequences.
