Rectosigmoid junction resection may be: to remove malignant tumors, to restore intestinal integrity, to control persistent gastrointestinal bleeding, and so on.
1. Malignant tumors: the most common reason for partial bowel resection is malignant tumors, for malignant tumors in the rectosigmoid junction, partial bowel resection is usually taken in order to resect them as thoroughly as possible.
2. Restoring intestinal integrity: some patients have large intestinal perforation, and if it is difficult to repair, the perforated part of the intestinal tube is usually resected and anastomosed to restore intestinal integrity.
3. To control gastrointestinal bleeding: some patients have uncontrollable gastrointestinal bleeding due to large lesions on the intestinal wall or serious vascular malformations, in order to avoid hemorrhagic shock, anastomosis after resection of the diseased section of the intestinal tube is also adopted.
In addition to the above reasons, severe traumatic intestinal rupture, necrosis of the intestinal tube at the recto-B junction, etc. may also be treated by partial intestinal resection, and it is recommended to consult a physician to clarify the cause and give treatment as early as possible.
